The AVMA has drafted a model VeterinaryPractice Act which would prohibit us from sharing our knowledge about nutrition and health with one another by telephone or via the internet. The draft labels anyone who consults with anyone about even alternative therapies as practicing veterinary medicine without a license. Their intent is to get each state to legislate this Act into law.”
This is something that will affect each and everyone of us who own pets. We all look for help and information when it comes to the well-being of our pets. This proposed law would prohibit the use of the phone or the internet in sharing/gaining this information.

I would have thought that even the US would have problems getting that onto the Statute books!

Here in the US we have something called FREE SPEECH , they can't tell me what I can talk about on the phone! If someone takes my advice without consulting thier vet over something seriouse, WELL HELLO!! What kind of animal owner are they anyways?

FYI , in the USA at the moment , the powers that be are trying to push through a law which means you cannot fast forward through the adverts on a videotape :D :D Can you imagine them trying to enforce THAT
:D
