Hi all, hope someone here can give me some advice. I have internet connection by satelite but the sat people don`t give you an email addy. The last agents used to provide this service but since they had dispute(failed to pay sat people & withheld clients monies ie me & loads others) & sat people have new agent & all clients have changed to them, the old agents decided to charge us all for providing us with email addys! Not surprisingly none of us wants to deal with them anymore so I`m left without an email addy.. New agents cant supply us with amail addys & so I`ve been adviced to look for a domain name & pay yearly but I`ve had a look around on net & don`t know who to choose cos there`s so many! I have msn & yahoo but since the w/end begining of week my yahoo one keeps telling me I`ve been logged on too long & log in again when I`ve only just gone on! Msn tell me can`t find server! So, I really need to sort this out & find a server for my email and if anyone can help me please, I`ll be very grateful. Oh I can`t connect by phone by the way.

Try putting Free email into a search engine. I know with some you get a lot of Spam, but other free addy providers don't sentd you rubbish.

I have a good email - its my firstname@lastname.com. It cost 24 dollars and if you email me at chloe@iscario.com i will tell you where i got it. You can pick it up through outlook express too. Its been 100% reliable ofr me and I am in in the UK

Lycos do free email on their lycos.co.uk site and you can configure a POP3 download via Outlook Express & other mail clients if that's any use to you.

Thanks for the help folks. If msn or yahoo gets problems I can`t email anybody! Tried a search B/less & signed up for a trial period on runbox.com but it`s run like yahoo & msn. But I want an email that runs in my outlook & my emails are where I can find them & I don`t have any limits, cos I hate msn & yahoo they always have a problem. The thing I need is a host apparently, manged to speak to new agent & he know`s someone but it comes with web page, now, what do I want with a web page & it`s going to cost me approx £100 or a bit more quid a yr!! Now as you can tell I don`t know a lot about this so I`m hoping I make sense & I can get a permanent unlimited email addy for a reasonable price. Any more ideas???

Hi Fablab, just spent the last couple hours doing lycos, got an email addy followed instructions for pop mail & nowt works only from the lycos page. Error no. 0x800cc18 for sending & 0x800cc79 for sending & receiving from outlook.! Going to now try Ings link & by that time I`ll be collapsing in me bed. Thanks all, but will be up like the lark in the morn trying again :) NOT :) :)

Not sure why your getting these errors but persevere it IS possible I have a pop3 lycos email address that I access via Outlook Express.

It's probably just one of the settings wrong, get a fresh pair of eyes to check them for you if that's possible. :)

Erhem, errrrmmm I DID IT!!! fablabs it works :) got half a dozen emails to meself thru outlook from lycos & back again to lycos!!! So I`m sendin n receivin an it looks like i have mail :) now does that hunky feller come with em do ya think????? :) who cares anyway, too tired to do him justice. Looks like I`m sorted thanks fablabs & thanks evryone else! Defo going to bed now , see if I can get a fresh pair of eyes for tomorow :)
