Hi
My boxer puppy who is now 4.5 months old will not poo anywhere except on the newspapers in the house or in our own garden outside. I take him out for a few walks everyday and he always waits till we get back to our place in order to do his business. What can I do to incourage him to make outside?

Personally I can't see the problem! You say he'll use his own garden - that's certainly what my own dog is trained to do, at 14 months it's an automatic response now to getting ready for a walk. Saves on poo bags and I know I have only my own garden to clean up and not the pavements! :D!

This is very common in young pups, but on saying that, some dogs including my own will not go anywhere else except at home. I dont mind that at all, as nothing worse than having to carry bags of poo home anyway, only thing if you stay away for a few days, they try to hold themselves thinking they will be going home soon, people must have thought I was mad, when eventually on a caravan holiday, my 7 month old puppy did do a poo, I was clapping and praising her for doing it !!!!!!!!:o
