I have a yorkie who weighs 16 pounds but looks and behaves like the toy version .What would you call thisd type of dog?

Hi yvelaine welcome to the forum :)

Yorkshire terriers in the UK can be up to 3.2kgs (7lb) so yours is simply a large dog......there are no *toy* Yorkshire Terriers recognised in the UK

Hi,

I had a large Yorkie, 19 lbs. Although at least 1-1/2 of those pounds were too many extra tidbits. :-)

Large Yorkies are common, especially from puppy mills (as mine was). They do not conform to the breed standard and should not be bred. Just loved and spoiled, as mine was.

once met a fella in the doncaster area who actually had a strain of yorkshire terriers that he worked,i doubt they were kc reg but were yorkies to look at but larger (around 14//15lb) these dogs were worked regularly to rat and fox.
