I have an Alaskan Malamute who is 8 months old. A couple of months ago his
right ear started to stay up, as it should, however his left ear seems very lazy
and does not stay up. Some people have said it is to late to do anything now
and it will now not stay up. I've heard about pinning but know nothing about
this, does anybody have any pearls of wisdom for me. Many thanks in
anticipation.

Hi,
I've just had this with my mal. Basically, I cut a shape of his ear froma cardboard tube and used tape to stick it on the inside of his ear to keep it upright. (Don't use very sticky tape - masking tape is good as it doesn't rip the fur off). I left it in every day for what seemed like an eternity but was only about three or four weeks and it worked! As for his age, when I posted on here I remember people saying that this could happen up to a year old. Hope this helps.
Joan :)
