I am thinking of getting a whippet for my daughter (8) to show. I will be looking for a litter in about a ten months time when my Great Dane will be about 18months old. I don't know much about whippets, but what I have read so far I have likes - and the legging it off in hot pursuit of a rabbit wouldn't be a problem :)

How are they with (much) bigger dogs? Willis is a gentle giant. I have a female staffie too who is ok with dogs.

Any thoughts/advice?

I too have Danes and have had the same thoughts about whippets (my daughter wants to show as well! :) ) As far as I know they would be fine with the Dane you just have to watch the Dane doesn't send it flying as they can be quite frail! That was the only thing that worried me about it anyway. HTH

How many Danes do you have? Can I ask you - do Danes tend to mature mentally quicker than other breeds? He seems ever so grown up for his age :)
