My 6 month old beagle is on a complete dried food but has never been enthusiastic about eating it. I used to give her a little bit of cooked beef mince in it when she was younger but stopped that as it was a bit of a hassle. I was wondering whether i would be able to give her a little bit of tinned tuna without any salt, additives etc as i have used it to give her tablets and she loves it, i thought it would make her meals more appetising.
I don't want to give her tinned dog meat at all, that is just a personal choice. Can anyone advise me ?

My goldens aren't keen on plain dry food so I always add a little tuna (in oil-it's good for the coat), pilchards or sardines, they just have to fight the cats off!

We put a little tuna in with pups food and he loves it - he is also on dried complete food .
Although to be fair complete food should not have any other food mixed in as it can upset the balance . But I'm sure alittle once in a while or as a treat will not cause any harm

Yes this should be fine , my goldens didnt like their complete food so had tinned pilchards in tomato juice put on it {only a teaspoon ful}
I still give them fish as part of their diet and it gives a lovely shiny coat.

My Golden has digestive problems and had to be taken off complete foods when she was a puppy. She has been on Chappie (yuk), but I always put some Tuna in Springwater (she can't digest fats properly) on her meal. The rule, certainly with Goldens, seems to be - the stinkier the better.
