Topic Dog Boards / General / DBA Insurance - Help please

Hi, today the first puppy is going to her new home and I was going to use DBA puppy insurance for the first time, but phoned them yesterday to check on something, only to find their number 0800 181886 was out of order. I tried e mailing them but it was returned by the postmaster. I only received info from them about 6 weeks ago, so I assume the phone no is still the correct one. Has anyone used them recently? Are they still up and running? The new owenrs are coming at 11 and I'm panicking that I wont be able to insure the puppy. Any help would be gratefully received. I'll give E&L a ring later - fingers crossed!

Actually both the DBI and Petplan were bought by the Cornhill Insurance group. They both operate out of the same building now!!

Hi Westie,
Sorry that I'm so late, just back from a show in Wales, but I believe that DB Association is different from DBI. I've been registered for many months but have had no puppies so have not used them yet. My membership letter shows www.dog-breeder.org as the main association website. From here is a direct e-mail address that's different from the one on the bottom of the letter.
I had already decided to return to Petplan because last month DBA sent me an e-mail stating that through the British Embassy they had a enquiry from Madame ... in France for a continual supply of puppies for her shop! I replied that if this was the sort of business that they were connected with, then please delete me from their breeders list as I didn't want to be connected with such an association. I received a number of e-mails, each one more apologentic than the one before, saying that the member of staff responsible was a computer person not a dog person and thought that it would be OK as it came from the British Embassy! We all have a choice eh? Good luck! - Valset

Also DBI now exclude any condition paid out for in the previous uear, as my friend who's Dobe bitches are on Thyroid med found to her cost after many years with them! Petplan do a for life policy, so that a given condition is not excluded on renewal.
