I know that I've asked this before but nobody seems to know the answer. If and when tails are not allowed to be docked how do people with natural bobtailed dogs prove this. Has anybody shown in Europe where docked dogs are not allowed to be shown?
I have a young girl (12 months) who's a natural bobtail and maybe one day I'd like to show her in Europe, but how do we get around this.
Any ideas??

Can only suggest the you ask the vet who has known her since she was born to write a document to state that she was born with a bob tail. If you did not breed her it will have to be the breeders vet, I'm sure most breeders have the bitch and pups checked out within 48 hours of birth and the vet would have noticed if the tail had been docked. I don't know if you can show if the tail has been amputated because of damage and you have a vet letter if so I would have thought that your situation would also be covered. I've replied but don't know if it is of any help, sorry. Jackie

Eh Jackie you were up early this morning but thanks for your reply. I doubt that the vet would remember whether mine was one of the natural bobtails especially as her sister is the same colour.
I wonder if there's any way of telling by feel. I know my eldest who was docked in Spain has a very gelly like feel to the end of her tail.
Oh well, when the time comes I'm sure that somebody will be able to tell us.

I think your vet may be able to tell, why not ask? Yes I was up early, blame the puppy, who's answer to my not getting up when the sun does is to distroy something, with luck just a teatowel.
