i dont know what advice to give you here...but i can tell you my malamute boy had only dropped 1 testicle at 10 weeks old (& the vet had checked and confirmed this) by 11w i thought there were 2 but a few days later he had none:confused: a few days later 2of them were there!
so we had another trip back to the vets who confirmed that 2 had decsended the vet also said sometimes they can suck them up!but not to worry to much at this age..i was half expecting 3 to be there:eek: days later... but he now has two all the time....!!
maybe its to early to make that decision just yet, these breeds can hang on to them for longer...although whatever you decide to do has got to be your choice,if the 2nd testicle dont drop he will need to be neutered
as the trapped testicle can become cancerous.

why where they vet checked 6 times ????? youve offered the owners every option possible, so cant think why the vet suggesting sueing you, its early days, the wondering testicle may descend yet!!
what breed are we talking, /?

It's far too early for anyone to worry about a wayward testical. And unless you have bred from a dog or bitch who has a history of this problem then you are not to blame, and the vet should be told, A/ he should not be worring his clinent about the puppy yet & B/ he should mind his own bussiness as he has no knowledge of you or your stock.

I would suggest that both you and your puppy buyer should wait at least until the pup is 12 months old, before you deside what action needs to be taken.

I agree, wait til 12 months. This is not a life threatening condition. Hopefully you sold the puppy with insurance and you strongly advised the new owner to continue insurance, just in case this sort of thing happened. No vet should speak to you like that, as he well knows (or should) many dogs dont have all their "bits" at this young age.

Hi Siber,

I presume you are on about sibes my your name, I have huskies to and you tend to find in the artic breeds they do retain there testicles alot longer than other breeds, I have a pup and his first testicle did not drop till last week , he is 17 weeks old now and my breeder has told me that the other one will probably follow soon, so do not worry, I gave my dog vit E and also masssaged the area every day, the testicles do start off at the kidneys so when you think about it they have along way to travel, it may be when the owners are feeling for it the pup is retracting the testicle back up, my pup does this but if I feel again quickly they are there,:)

I had my pups vet checked at 7 weeks and only 2 had dropped and 1 had one down and the other none yet, but she pulled the little testy out, it would go back and forth. I have talked to all owners and they are now dropped 14 weeks. My little one I have u can see their are both but one still gets sucked back up, but I can bring it down, they just are not fully descended yet. Why don't u ask if u can go over and check the pup ur self. I had one person get a pup and tell me he looks like a girl no testies at all, I told him I knew that one was there (he was fixing him) and told him to bring him back. Well he went to the vet and surprise he had both, he just did not know how to check.
Hope everything works out.
ttfn :)
