I have had a dog for 14 years now and only yesterday he got put down. I
don't know if I can just forget about him. He was the light of my life!

Poor you:( It's dreadful to lose a good friend, isn't it. Don't try to forget about him, you can't. Just try to remember the happy times. It'll make you cry, but it gets easier to bear.

Thinking of you.

When you share your life with a dog it is impossible to forget them,14 years is a long time and in that time you will have experienced happy times and sad times in your own life your dog will have been there with you.Im not sure if Ive posted this before but here goes it was written for my William when he was a puppy I lost him last year.

Is Your Heart
by Glenys Fryer

Do you think you Heart is big enough
To store the love he gives
This lovely Pup you’ve just acquired
In the short time that he lives
Do you think your Heart is wide enough
To store up all the pride
Of this handsome dog, all grown up
As he walks out by your side
And will you Heart be strong enough
To cope with all the pain
When the time has come to say goodbye
You cant see him again
Well when my Hearts no longer strong
And My Life comes to an end
There will be a celebration
‘Cause I’ll see my friend again
As I take my walk down Heavenly Shores
I know that I will see
That familiar face, that wagging tail
Waiting There for me

I'm sorry to hear of your dog.

My dog died in November in a really horrible tragedy. I thought at the timemy head and heart would fall apart with the pain. I still have moments when the pain hits me and I feel I won't get beyond it. My whole body fills up and I still cry.

Just hold on to the fact that you spent 14 happy years with your dog. They probably had a fantastic life as the light of your life and enjoyed every minute of it. And as you had to put them down, at least they aren't suffering anymore.

Time does heal.

Big hug to you.
