I just changed my labs food from Iams to Science Diet. I mixed up the two for around four days so that his stomach could get used to it, but now that he's on strictly the Science Diet, I've noticed that he has loose stools. Does his stomach need a little more time to adjust to the new food, or has anyone else had a problem with this food?

Hi Crazy Dog
I too changed on to the Hills and pups stools went the same way .
I was unsure whether it was the change of food or whether it didnt agree with him.
I have now put it down merely to his system getting used to the change .

Give it a few more days and all will be well . :)
Pup looks great on it too .

Hi,

I have started to give my 5 month old BC the Hills Science Growth Formula (in cans) which is a kind of reddy/orange colour in the tin with lots of pearl barley visible in it. Basically he has been having it for a week now and his stools are still quite loose and (disturbingly) almost the same colour as the food is in the tin. Hopefully it will settle down soon....

Actually, they are! I guess he just had to get used to it. Thanks for asking!!
