Anybody ever heard of having to apply for planning permission to keep more then 6 dogs on the premises . Please help

Don't really know but could it be connected with change of use if going to breed? Just a thought, planning regs are somewhat strange ;-)

Hi Whizz,
It is generally not planning permission but permission to waive a condition in the burdens.
Most houses I stress most ( town house, new houses, residential areas) have in the burdens that you can only keep 2 dogs, no farm animals at all. Some say you can't have any without the feuholders or superiors permission.
The reason is to protect others privacy, value of there houses and the right of people to enjoy their property without noise or smell.

Best thing to do, is ring up your local council, ask to be put through to the planning department, tell them which ward you are in (don't tell them your house number tho - no need to attract unwanted attention!) and ask them to advise you. Why has the issue arisen?

Hi, I know where I live it's not actually planning permission you have to have but written permission from your local authority's but in my area it is to keep more than one dog.
