I would Like to know if my Siberian Husky is suitable for stud service before i post him as a stud anywhere.
I can t ell you that he is papered and his parents and grandparents were onsite and had no visable hip or eye problems also was told by the breeder that there were none. Klondike is pure white with split eye. When i take him to the dog park to run and play with the other dogs, ive ben told by other dog owners as well as breeders of other breeds thats his moves when running at a fast or slow pace as well as jumping are just marvelous almost as if he is a horse trotting. I do plan on getting him tested before i breed him for hip prolems as well as other mandatory tests and if all goes well with the vet and opinion of respectfull breeders i am hoping to breed him....stud or otherwise. Any advice will help so that i will not have to go off asumption. I am in the USA

Hi guest

Seeing your sibe *running nice or trotting like a horse* is not a good enough reason to breed him

Firstly is he AKC registerd? Is he close to the breed standerd? What tests are you planning to have done (hips & eyes?).

I would sugget you go along to local shows and talk to breeders if you are lucky they may take a look at your husky and tell you whether if he is show/breed quality, I would suggest you show him to prove he is worthy of the breed standerd (its great fun for you and the dog), then when you have done all th e above go about seeking a suitable mate that has also done all of the above................

Its a lot harder than sticking two dogs together and waiting for the outcome............... hope this helps

You could try looking on the Siberian Husky Club website

Not sure if they have one in the USA ( I bet they do) here is the address for the UK one

www.siberianhuskyclub.co.uk

they have loads of advice on there
