I am looking for a snow white GSD dog pup, longcoat, jet black pigment, must come from mainly British lines, be big boned, parents must be big, longcoated and have excellent pigment.
I will pay the going price, papers are not necessary but I do want a quality white.
Preferably someone in Scotland, but can travel. Hope someone can help, I have been searching for this kind of puppy for ages!!
Please e mail me - Nighteyes_wolfsong@yahoo.co.uk.

All the whites I have ever seen have been cream to biscuit in colour. the only pure white shepherds I have seen are an offshoot of the GSD that has been recognised in Europe, the Dutch White Shepherd. I also gather that such a breed has been recognised on some registries in USA.

I have a pure White Gsd with exceptional pigment. But his breeder is in Bristol. She breeds beautiful whites long coats, as well as coloured long coats and standards. You are welcome to email me for more information.

I have seen some very nice white Shepherds from a Bristol breeder, probably the same one, but they all have had cream tinges, not pure white like you would get in A samoyed, or indeed these Dutch whites I saw, these were really white.

When I bought my new pup I was pleased that altough he did have creamy coloured ears and hocks he was very white, but it wasn't until I got him home and put him next to my older dog that I realised how 'White' my older dog was. He is an exception to most of the whites that I know and see, who as you say are a biscuit to cream colour, but this breeder does produce outstanding GSD's of all coats and colours. Probably is the same breeder that you know of. She, as far as I know is the only licenced breeder of whites in Bristol.

What do you mean by "a licenced breeder of whites". As far as I know breeders who breed more than a certain number of litters a year are registered as having commercial breeding kennels by the local council. It would appear that what they breed is of no interest to either the kennel club or the local council. Jackie

As I have already stated, they breed all coats and colours. And yes they are classed as a commercial breeder by the council, altough I doubt that they have as many bitches as some breeders who advertise on this site. And as for the KC not having any interest in this, ALL dogs are KC registered and insured by them whether they be of a standard, coloured long or white coat.

Krys, I believe that there is a club for longhaired and white GSD? Would you happen to have any club details that you could post? :-)

Admin. I do have details, yes, but I know that they have been posted on the site before and as I have already been contacted by the person that started this thread, I feel that I have been able to help already. Sadly the thread has gone off on a tangent as so many threads seem to do these days. Alas, what should have been a straight forward response to a question has now been turned around into something else. If anyone is interested The White and Long Coat Shepherd Society do have a website, which is: www.walcss.co.uk
