Hi Lesley

What breed? - Dobermanns In Need I think fall within the radius you have given and they nearly always have older dogs and bitches looking for homes. If you are interested then leave your email address and I will send you their number

I cannot do it myself, and anyone I keep is here for good, but I know some breeders retire their champions and breeding stock into Pet homes, where they can be centre stage. this is not usually done in any planned manner, but often times a former puppy owner/freind would like an older one as a companion, and the person and dog are made for each other. Those breeders I know who have allowed their preciousdogs to go to a fireside home where they will be sole dog or one of two have homed them this way with the dogs best interest at heart.

My bitch who was 8 yesterday would be an ideal bitch to home with an older person, and she would be quite happy, as she is that sort of character, I have had offers of good homes for her, but I cannot bring myself to let her go, but wopuldn't blame another breeder for accepting.
