I recently bought a Cavalier king charles spaniel. The advert said he was of excellent pedigree and kc reg. The breeder said I would recieve his papers through the post, today (18.1.03) I received a registration certificatefrom a dog lovers registration club. Will i be able to get reg with the kc,does any one have any advice? Dam and sire are High Topper and Kingston beauty. thanx

You have been cheated if the advert said KC registered. If you no longer have the advert contact the publication for a copy, and take it to trading standards. It may be that the parents were also not KC registered or had restrictions on their papers to prevent irresponsible breeding but judgeing by their names I would think they were not from well known lines, and may also just be dog Lovers (fine name as it is used mostly by puppy farmers) registered.
I have checked both those dogs in the Cavaliers on line database and neither of them appear. They hold records for over 35,000 dogs and any one whos anyone is in there .If you want to sendme a copy of the pedigree via e-mail I'll check for you if there are any well known kennels in there although I very much doubt it if the pup isnt KC reg my e-mail is thelushones@aol.com
