Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Why at me?What does it mean?

Alright, I simply MUST ask this!! It may be similar to the Dalmation question below, but I just have to know... When I talk to Dutchess (Aussie bitch) in an excited voice she will cock her head and lift one lip at me (think Elvis! :D) She doesn't do this to anyone else. What is that? Maybe she doesn't like that tone of voice... or is it just an excited 'tick', or a playful thing? It baffles me!!

Max does this too (not the lip thing) when you talk to him in an unusual tone or use a word he had never heard before, he cocks his head trying to get a better hearing angle. We say that he is saying "Christmas, whats that food." or whatever the word is.

She's grinning at you! From what I understand, it is not an uncommon behavior in Aussies. My Pepper mostly grins at me, but she has grinned at my husband from time to time. Enjoy those Aussie smiles! :)
