Can anyone please tell me at what age GSD's usually mature?

Male of female?
My female matured at about 18 months old, my male at about 3 yrs old...though some days I do wonder! ;) :p

My vet told me that males mature around 3 years of age, though my Foggy got really sensible when he reached two. He started listening more and coming back to me on walks and 'greeting me', ears down, tail wagging without me calling him. My bitch, Mia is 18 months old, quiet and placid in the house but very playful out on walks. You can tell she's not ready for maturity yet!

Must be a "Mia thing", my Mia is a hooligan!!!!! And she's 2 & half!!!!!! :o Her younger brother Curtis is far better behaved & obedient! :D

HI Josh :)

Dogs go through 2 phases of maturing, one physical and the other social. Many larger breeds do not socially mature until 3 or so.

Explains why youngsters often get themselves into silly situations with other dogs and find they then don't know how to back off with dignity ;)

Please explain more about the social side, sounds very intresting. Do you mean only with other dogs, or with humans too. What sort of "situations"? She never (toucing alot of wood) fights other dogs, and is great with welcoming people, a little to friendly, sometimes I wish she would be a bit "aloof with strangers", like it says in the breed characteristics.

My idiot is running up and down the stairs at the moment, screaming because my cocker is in season, oh the joys of it all.
