Hi All
Whilst transferring ownership of my GD puppy I noticed on the forms that if you pay the £10 for the change of ownership via Credit Card, the KC then charge that card with monthly insurance costs (after the initial 6 weeks free period - unless you cancel within the designated period) - without any prior notification.
It was written in teeny tiny writing - and I personally think it is diabolical. Too commercial, too underhanded, and downright sneaky. Any new puppy owners - I suggest you pay by cheque to be sure.

Thanx for that Chloe - will tell the new owners of my pups about it.

And note they don't take the blindest bit of notice if you mark your transfer form that the insurance is not required because the dog is already insured elsewhere! I still had to cancel the KC cover!

Same here first I knew of the insurance was when a payment went out of my bank account - one very vexed breeder on the phone nagging about it I can tell ya they paid the premium back and some compensation too. I had photocopied the new form when I sent it back just in case there was a problem re credit card details etc.

I have told all my puppy buyers to pay by cheque and I give them 6 weeks petplan insurance and advise them to stick with petplan.
