Would you say a nice shiny coat is more down to good breeding and hereditary or purely down to feed ?
I am going to rear my pup on complete dry food but there are so many different ones that promise all kinds .
Would you advocate supplements - although complete foods should not have any supplements ?

In a word no and no!
I've known some dogs of terrible breeding with lovely shiny coats and plenty of beautifully bred dogs with dull coats. A thin coat in the case of dogs with an undercoat then breeding can account for a lack of under or top coat but thats all.
Supplements, Complete is as it says, completeand balanced to give all thats needed. Its a case of add to it to unbalance it.

I would say that food has a lot to do with it. My two labs one black and one chocolate, 9 and 5 have beautiful shiny coats, so much so they can look really wet, the whole time!! About four weeks ago, I changed their diet to Burns holistic diet, the results have been fantastic. I would wholly recommend it.

I have also recently changed to Burns and have had excellent results, shiny coats and dogs that cant wait to be fed, I have never seen dogs so enthusiastic about meal times :D also alot less hair loss on my goldie who usually sheds loads all year round! I can recommend Burns, Its worked for me anyway :) Sarah
