Hi

i'm looking to get my Cocker into his first show. Does anyone know of any exemption or Open shows in the N Yorks region that would be a good place for him, and me ;-) to start?

Hi Pam

Only meeee :-)

Try the following sites for info, best start is telephoning secretary for schedules.

www.pedigreedogs.co.uk
www.dogshowreview.co.uk
www.dogshows.co.uk

you could also try www.dogworld.co.uk (or.com cant remember lol) although you might be better off buying the newspaper coz alot of shows are listed here. Also " our dogs " is a good one.

Although I will forward u any i come accross :-)

bfn love n hugs

Hi Pam

How about Yorkshire Cocker Open Show on October 6? Not sure where they hold this show but the Secretary will be able to tell you (Mr Shields 01845 577764). I think the judge is Lea Bogers-Dam from Holland. I think breed club open shows are a nice place to start with a young dog - the all-breed shows can be a bit noisy & daunting for an inexperienced dog, specially if you happen to be in the ring next to the Staffies :-) (no offence to Staffies - they're great dogs but they sure do make a lot of noise at shows!!)

Regards

Jane

Hi Jane

Many thanks. I'll give Mr Shields a ring later tonight and hope I'm not too late.

Not sure whereabouts you are in N Yorks but there is an exemption dog show on Sunday at Lancaster. Is this too far?

Hi Helen

Normally Lancaster would not be too far - but it is for this weekend unfortunately. Thanks anyway.
