IS A DACHSHUND A GOOD CHOICE IF YOU HAVE A BABY IN THE HOUSE?

As with any dog you need to watch all the time when the dog is in the same room as a baby. I have three dachsies. My mini wire is nervous around kids. However my mini smooth and my mini long absolutely adore children. They love it when my five year old neice comes to visit. I have a friend who has a standard wire, she also adores kids. My mother has a standard smooth who is quite nervous of children, she has been brought up with my neice and loves her to bits, but doesn't like other children.
If you get a puppy then you should have no problems, but be careful which one you choose. Also remember that dachsies are prone to back broblems, and when children play with dogs it can usually be quite rough.
