I have a 5 year old male dachound and we just got a 3 year old male chocolate labrador. We have not been able to succesfully introduce them without the lab raising up and acting aggresive. Should we just give it time or how should we get them to live in harmony in the same house?

Hi guest,
I take it they're being 'friendly' to one another and not growling or seriously posturing? The lab is just being bouncy, like labs do? Due to size difference and the possibility of back injury towards your doxie, you might consider keeping the lab on a lead until he learns to settle. Teach him to stay on all four feet instead of rearing up.

Also give room for your doxie to be able to back off and withdraw from the 'intruder' ;). Don't let him get overwhelmed by the larger dog in small quarters. Outside play might help where both dogs can sniff and snort around alongside one another.

If this is a case of attempting dominance......
Are both dogs intact? If the doxie is neutered and the Lab isnt, there could be problems trying to get along.
But don't leave them alone together until all of the 'kinks' have worked out. That could take a long time or it could be in a month. Who knows?

hth,
toodles
