What is his show record? To be a useful stud (to the further good of the breed) he must be very good example, and as close as possible to the breed standard. If you've shown him a few times and he's come nowhere, then forget about studding him and enjoy him as a pet!

Contact his breeder to see if they think he's good enough to use at stud (just because his parents were champions doesn't necessarily mean he's suitable!). And remember that if you do use him at stud that you have as much responsibility to provide back-up to the puppies owners as does the bitch's owner!! It takes 2 to tango!

As the previous reply I would go back to his breeder to ask their opinion. Think very carefully about it though, a Dalmatian is usually a very headstrong dog, at a year old he is no where near mature, they can turn into quite a handful at 18 months with raging hormones, giving him a flavour of what he wants will not make the easiest pet to live with, let alone taking him out and about. If he is just a pet I would seriously think of having him neutured at this age a hormone filled Dalmatian dog is not a happy dog or a pleasure to live with.

breeding two champions together does not neccessarily produce good puppies-if only it were that simple!!
You need to show your boy(if you haven't already) to find out how good he is and then-if he does well-you MIGHT get some interest in using him.

And I'm assuming he's BAER normal hearing, isn't he? If he isn't, forget it.
