You can try using Thornit Ear powder. I use it on my dogs to prevent ear problems and have recently used it on a dog with bad ears. The dog stopped scratching almost immediately and hasn't scratched since nearly 4 weeks.
You can get it from Champion Pet Supplies

I use Thornit for my Springer - excellent stuff (makes her smell like a hospital, but that's a lot better than manky ears :-))

Hi Guest
As Bec and Digger have suggested get some Thornit ear powder for your Cocker, a few pinches in the ears will have your dog feeling much better.
Also another good idea with Cockers is to make sure that the air can get into the actual ear so ensure that the hair is trimmed on the inside of the ear leather.

As the others have said, Thornit can work wonders although it doesn't cure every case especially where the ear canal is unusually narrow (as occurs with some Cockers) In bad cases, an aural resection may be the best option - although it is tricky surgery so try the Thornit first & see what happens :-) Can't remember if anyone else has given the website for ordering Thornit, so
here it is.
