You have not said what breed or where you live, but the best advice is to ask your bitches breeder for advice as they will know far more than we or your vet could.

Well, there you go Dizzy, admit I only know the affix of people in my own group and then not all, OH and Newfis. Still does not change the basic fact that the best step is to speak to the breeder, particulaly in a breed that can have health problems.

It's all IF'S Dizzy, If it's a good breeder, bitch, stud, vet, well one could go on but we have know way of knowing. And we don't know if the owner knows what is involved but if the bitch did have a careing breeder then the owner should not have too much trouble. You may be correct about the breeder not being responsible not many would let a bitch go without an endorcement. One can only hope that as they have asked a question at least they are giving it some thought beyond the "it would be nice" stage. Jackie
