Sorry to say there is only one solution here and it is to stop the puppy from toileting in the house. Your older dog is doing what comes naturally to him, telling the younger `new comer` exactly were he stands in the scheme of things.

Trying we only have this problem when we settle them down for the night do not expect her to be clean at night yet as she has only turned 9 weeks old.
Problem is she will not sleep on her own as yet only with Jake in the kitchen with her.
I know! poor Jake having to puppysit the puppy but if he is not in the same room she starts to cry and our au pair bedroom is next door.
At the end of the day if their is nothing I can do untill she is clean then I will just have to hurry up and get her clean at night.

Kind regards
Nina

Hi Nina
Is it possible for you to crate her at night time so that she can still be with Jake, but because she is in a crate will be dryer sooner through the night. I have always found the less access they have to space at night the less they `go`.They instinctively know in most cases it is better to keep their own little area clean.I didn`t know by the way that your puppy was a bitch .Jake will always mark his territory
where she has been.Hope this makes sense to you.
Regards,
Carole.

Thank you Carole I knew that we would have some problems with having a male and female dog in the house together was pretty much prepared for these problems. I suppose because Jake has allways been clean I took it for granted that he might carry on.
It is not a problem for me I have a good mop handy.
As for crateing her we found that the cage was to big for her to cope with at the moment
so we have a small box for her she is much happier with this.
We found in the big cage that she was to distressed and would pee all over her bedding with the box she will go on paper by the back door.
