Hi,
I am the proud owner of 3 siberian Huskies. I have a 15 year old(mom) a 8 year old (son) and a new arrival who is 11 months old. We want to find a stud so we can breed her when she is older. I don't know the best way to plan for this so I hoped someone could offer me some advice. We don't want to breed her to young but we are only breeding her once and not for profit. We want to do it as a learning experience for our son and so we can have one more! I know, we will almost have our own team LOL!
Thank you & Happy Holidays!

are you a member of the siberian husky club?
you would be able to get plenty of advice from some very reputable breeders within the club. There are a great many things to consider when breeding.
your bitch needs to be hip scored and eye tested any breeding restrictions need to be lifted and you must decide very carefuly whether or not she is suitable to breed from.
you need to be sure of good responsible homes for the litter and be prepared to take back the offspring at any stage during their lifetime if for whatever reason the new owners cant cope.
there is probably much more to consider than this (I am not a breeder but like you I have my own little pack) you need to be 100% sure that you are breeding for the right reason and not just as a learning experience for your son, I don't mean to be critical but you need to look into it, there are a lot of poorly bred siberian husky's doing the rounds at the moment a great many of which will probably find their way into welfare because the breeders havent bred responsibly and vetted the new owners carefuly
(I am not saying you are irresponsible I am sure that you are not because you are here asking questions, but please do think very carefuly about it)

I would also plan to show your bitch before you start to breed with her, atten your local ringcraft clubs and see how you go from there::)
See if she is up to the breed standerd (right size etc....) Before you rush into breeding off her, if you still decide to breed offher after that you will have to find a stud that is compatiable to her lines, find a good stud that has proved him self in the show ring
Heidi and the huskys Wooooo'oooooooooooo
