Welcome to the forum Garydec :-)
What does your vet say about it?

Your puppy has already been on treatment - but I think you should ring the vet and tell them what the situation is. They'll not want you to take the puppy in but may see him in your car or even in your home. Kennel cough if not treated properly can kill a young dog but with any luck this is just a residual cough that will clear in time..
It might be an idea to find out exactly what treatment he has been on and tell your vet that info'n too. It will help them decide what if anything, they need to do for your puppy.

the breeder gave us all details of medication that he had been on. but he still has a cough dont know much about kennel cough but when he coughs he sounds as if he has got something stuck in the back of this throat.other than that he is fine eating well, bouncing around, bright eyes and happy.any info would be a great help

If your dog is happy and eating and drinking it suggests that he is fighting the Kennel Cough off OK. It can take a few weeks to go completely. The cough you describe is exactly what you would expect with KC. My dog has just had it.
