Yes I know it's a dog board and I know I am a cheeky cow as being so wrapped up lately with the new horse I have hardly been on but you guys always come up trumps and know exactly which direction to go in.
A temp foster home 3 months needed for a 12yr old neutered male, all expenses paid however cat is currently not well and owner is reluctant to put him in Cattery as feels the owners are not committed to looking after him should his illness get worse. He has had diarroeha for the last 2 weeks and has had liver, kidney tested etc. Nothing yet found and waiting results for Thyroid problem. Owner will without doubt cover all vet treatment whilst away and also cover all expenses. They do not want to give him away but they need a foster home as if the worst comes to the worst they would rather he spent his last time in a home rather than a cattery. It could be nothing but they have a week before they fly out and the attitide of the regular cattery he goes to has made them nervous that they will look for the quick easy way out and have him pts as soon as their plane takes off.
Now the real prob - HE HATES DOGS!!!!!!!!! Sorry guys I know this is a dog board, he would ideally suit a retired couple, someone at home all day type lifestyle with no chaos! (counts most dog owning homes out then) however he does need grooming. Basically this cat needs a 3 month foster home with someone willing to ensure he gets any treatment he needs at no cost to them! Does anyone know of Ragdoll rescue, temp cat foster homes etc. I would have him as even though he is a spoiled brat and eats only fish/chicken (owner will pay for his diet) my 3 hounds would put the poor thing into an early grave.
He is based in the Manchester area and any help/advice greatly appreciated. Please Mail me if you can help.
Thanks Guys
Poor puddy! I hope he finds a temporary home quickly, Lisa....will no veterinary surgeries foster him? Some do board...just a thought :)

Thanks Jacqui I have suggested they put a card up in the vets as maybe a nurse or someone will think of having him. I know it's a long shot but there could be nothing wrong with him and he may be fine in a week. Even if it is a thyroid and can be controlled with drugs they are willing to pay for him to be cared for until they come back into the country, but if the vets turn round in a month and say there is nothing they can do at least he would of spent his last few weeks living in a home enviroment.
For those not familier with Ragdolls, they have siamese markings, coat like a Persian, but the size of a a King charles, oh and the biggest china Blue eyes to die for! - and yes THEY DO FEEL PAIN despite myth!
I've wanted a Ragdoll for ages. A friend has two but she also has dogs or I'd have asked her if she wanted to foster him.
Keeping our paws crossed that he finds a home :)
