I hope, Julie, that you're not inviting Jonny Depp for conversational skills ;) :d I've heard him in several interviews and he's really 'out there' between ego and pseudo philosophy rants  I don't know how many actors/actresses would really be interesting people in life without their scripts....except those who have 'matured' into their older years.
My guests would be:
Joseph Boury--- a great great grandfather that appeared and disappeared in/out of the blue. I would LOVE to know his life story-- French immigration, parents, Civil War career, Gold Rush fever, and why he abandoned his family!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eleanor of Acquitaine -- I bet she'd be great to listen to :) :D
Amelia Earheart --- Find out what REALLY happened on that last flight.
Morgan Le Fey --- was she as wicked as everyone says or was it more like Winds of Avalon? :)
Katherine Hepburn
Julia Childs --- for the cooking :) :D

Oh you got me..Johnny Depp was my eye candy!:D But honestly how on earth did he manage to get engaged sooooooooooooooo many times...perhaps there'd be a ring in it for me:) But I stand by my other guests, it will be a night of shockable truths and laughter.Leaving the politics at the door.

Boury is quite unusual, did you ever try to trace any possible relatives? I feel a Trisha show coming on :D
Seriously, my grandparents have a rather mysterious past.I think alot of traumatic events occured in the early years of the century, it may well be worth doing a spot of investigating into mr Boury.

Oh, Taffy, the last 5-7 years of my life has been spent tracing dear Joseph Boury/Borey/Bowry/Bury through the US
I took over after parents surrendered to defeat after 15 years of work--thanks to tech advance, there's been a lot of break throughs :D :D He was very good at not being found by anyone, including his wife who hired a Pinkerton Agent to locate his whereabouts  He also left such a dysfunctional family that few of his children had successful marriages or offspring  And each generation has had less and less.
Now I am talking about someone who lived approximately from 1820- 1880s in the sparsely populated 'Wild West' :D :P :D
Nah, not obsessive at all, am I? ;) :D :D

Sorry to the nieces but he only gave me 6 chairs, so on one side of the table we have ...
Sister Phil in charge of Bec, Daisy, Angel, inflatable beds, ciggies and Daisy's Delicious Christmas Dinner
Sister Sam who is calling a spade a *** shovel and has brought Damson, Holly and Star along
Sister Sara with the dry sense of humour is cuddling Chienne & Samma and admiring her new virtual deerhound
Then on the other side are ....
Tina, supplier first class coffee, hound chat & hospitality
Linda, who brings a big pile of CCs and another wrinkly baby to stay for a bit
Mari the donor of our lovely Brett the Weeble, fringe specialist and breaker of car windows
Warm thanks to every one of you for good crack and for everything else :).
I think it'll be a good party :D!

OOOoooh, I luv my new virtual deerhound --especially with the virtual poop/piddle/jumping/chewing events scheduled in the future :D :D :D
I did go ahead and move Chienne and Samma to lie underneath my chair :) 31 pounds of dog was getting uncomfortable on lap + they were drooling at the food placed on the table
I'm having quite a good ole time at this Christmas Party ;) :)
Sis, pass the mulled wine, please :)

I'm being kind so the virtual deerhound is related to Madame & sprogs not Teelin the Terror oo it shouldn't do any of the mentioned naughties. But it is syphoning up your mulled wine and trying to levitate the food off your plate :).
Never mind - have another glass. HIC!

Just "pressed the button"? Save us Mari, I thought you were trying to send the ruddy window to Australia!
Any road, after foundering to death all the way home and being desperate for a pee but unable to leave the car with Malachi in it and the window jammed wide open, I'm having a wee a go or two at somebody

! Even if it wasn't their fault. :p Which it wasn't :D
He

I am with Leigh on this one ....not that I would invite Paddington of course ;) :D

OK, On one side there would be Mel ( without wife so I could gaze at him) Ronan Keeting to serenade us, and Dawn French to make us laugh. On the other side would be Leigh, so I stay in her good books for more than five minutes, someone really sensible intelligent and educated for stimulating conversation, my daughter, and at the end of the table Tom Cruise so my daughter could stare at him. After dinner we would have a big party/booze up with all the guests and all my mates from CDs:)((((((sighs wistfully))))))))

No name for the "someone really sensible intelligent and educated for stimulating conversation" so can we presume that none of us fit the description :D?

OK, firstly I would like to inform Julie that if anyone is going on Johnny Depps knee it is going to be ME!!! :) Who else then...
Jon Bon Jovi because he is lovely and wears extraodinarily tight trousers
JRR Tolkien because he was in my opinion the best author to have put pen to paper
Mozart because he wrote some brilliant stuff
Mark Owen because he can do the washing up..he was very good at it on BB
Homer Simpson because he is SOooooo funny
Kathy Burke is also a possibility for me but only in her role as Linda (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme) 'cos I don't need the competition from any glamour puss ;)
A fleeting visit by Tony Blair just so I could tell him what I think of Public Sector pay and unniversity fees :(
last but not least all of my dogs because I can't imagine any good times without them.

4. Marilyn
5. Ian McShane
6. The little one from Westlife (sorry, don't know his name! :O )

If we can have dead people that's you, Sara and I who would have Elizabeth 1. I'd have a one of Sara's as well. So for my strong Royal women - and men to match them
Elizabeth I
Margaret Beaufort (mother of Henry VII)
Matilda (daughter of Henry I & mother of Henry II )
Henry II
Richard III (I'm a secret Ricardian)
David Starkey (who is alive but good fun, to question the others)

Nigella Lawson has arrived early, she 's doing all the cooking.
I'm playing chess in front of the log fire with Carol Vordeman ( can you play strip chess ).
Danni Minogue and Christina Aguilera are singing carols ( weird thing to imagine Christina Aguilera doing her dirty dancing - have you seen her new video - to Silent night).
Carlton tv weather girl Charlie Neil said it was going to snow, we could be here for days but who cares........oh yes I forgot I sent Winona Ryder to buy everyone presents, She said don't worry about money she would sort things out.

Um, hard one this is, as there are so many people I would like to invite..... have to save some for new year.
1. Delia Smith (to cook for us)
2. Bing Crosby (super carol singer)
3. Emmeline Pankhurst
4. George Bernard Shaw
5. Victoria Wood
6. Sean Connery
That should provide us with lots of good food, background harmony, interesting and witty conversation. Now to think of a guest list for New Year :D
