I have two wires age 5 and 1.
Recently both have started to paw
the water in their drinking bowl.
I changed bowl position.
I changed bowl type (Stainless steel / earthenware)
I have changed location.
I have added and subtracted amount of water.
All to no avail.
I come back to finding great puddles on the kitchen floor.
Any suggestions please?

My ESS did much the same, she would 'dig' all the water out of both her plastic and stainless bowls !

No matter where I put it etc. she just seemed to enjoy doing it

In the end I bought a bowl that hooks onto the side of her run, no more problems ! :) (although she will dig the water out of her washing up bowl {no don't ask  !!}).

A bit difficult to do in the kitchen !!, but maybe raising it a little MIGHT make the difference?

why not put their bowls outside, then it won't matter!!!!!! Dread to think what sort of a mess my lot would make if they had indoor bowls!!!!

My Border Collie used to also do this and he would also try to bite the water when he was younger in his case it turned out he was after his shadow in the reflection of the water bowl.
