I'm a bit confused about dew claws. Do Golden Retrievers have them? If so, are they generally removed by breeders when the pups are young?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi sarah, it is up to the breeder if they want the due claws removing, because i breed rottys, i have the dew claws done the same time as there tails. if you have a problem with the claws a vet will remove them for you, one of my dogs still have theres with no problem.

yes. Goldens have them on the front legs - a few breeds have them on the hind legs too. They are usually removed (by vet or breeder) at about 3 days of age.
