We think, purely by chance, that we may have found out a bit more about Angels background. She has always been wary of men, not nasty but quiet and quite scared. Last night , something happened that has made us think she has had things thrown at her by a man. Bec asked Steve to throw her the clicker (TV channel changer) As he threw it, it hit Bec on her reflex point on her knee, and came spinning back again towards Angel. Initially she was a bit worried, but then got up, walked over to Steve, stood on her hind legs with her paws on his middle and growled, very low and deep at him, then went and sat down again. Goodness knows what this poor little soul has been through in the past:(

Poor soul :(
How remarkable.... To me, what she did, was one of the most polite and controlled 'telling offs' that I've ever heard a dog do to any human or canid. Perhaps it wasn't fear that the remote came towards her, but that Steve threw it at Bec in the first place ...and she didn't approve of his behavior towards Bec.

IMO -- If she was in fear of his actions, she would have cowered in a corner or go after him without thinking first. I've seen both happen with abused dogs :( :( But that's just how I see things...a little odd, I know. I could be wrong.. I often am :) :P

Hi sara, you could well be right, who knows;) It would be so much easier with rehomed dogs, if the owners could find out ALL their past details. I only know that thisis one of the most loving affectionate dogs I have ever owned!!! She even stands over me when Im in bed so I can kiss and rub her fat tummy.

Our older dog was a stray from Battersea. Even after 3 years he is still very wary of strangers (that is anyone apart from the four of us) and barks ferociously at most people. For the first couple of years he would cower if we put an arm out to put on his lead. He is the most loving of dogs and with us we trust him 100%. We would love to know what made him so afraid of people tho'.
