Hi
I have just loosed Saskia out (9 month old husky bitch), when I brought her in I noticed there was a small bit of bright yellow bile on the decking, with the other 2 dogs being out side I did not know who had done it. But when I took her in the kitchen I saw her bring some more up. There is no blood in there or bits of wod etc what she could of ate my mistake, it is very yellow an bit frothy, she seems fine in her self, is this Ok ?
Worried DOGS

My dog Cuervo brought up yellow bile when we were using straw as bedding. They were eating it, took her to the vet and thats what it turned out to be. Her breath had a very yeasty (like beer smell) smell. Our vet told us to use blankets instead. She was sick, the smell of food even made her ill.
Rather than that I'm not sure, this probably wasn't much help. Hope Saskia is o.k. :)

Hi Dollface
Saskia sleeps in the kitchen so it cant be that she has eaten any bedding, Although she may of picked something up in the garden

Hello dogs, Only a thought but could she have eaten a lump of anything (dog toy, rubber bone etc) as the simptoms are the same as one of my dogs had - Clear yellow bile with froth! The vets said this can indicate that there could be a blockage. He went in for exrays and all sorts but it turned out to be a nasty tummy upset. He stayed in the vets over night and had antibiotics. Has anything come out the other end cos my dog didnt do anything for days, it was all coming up out of the front end. Hope this might help. :-) Emma

Chewi was doing this as well last week, only his was orange. I checked that the 'back door' was still working and gave him some yogurt and let him sleep. In 24 hours he was back to normal being his usual thuggish self.
Heidi, if Saskia is pooing ok, it may not be a blockage but a bit of a tummy upset. BUT if she isn't pooing or you are still worried and she is still bringing up the bile after 24 hours, I would take her to the vet for a checkover.
Let us know how she gets on, I know how worrying it can be.

Hi DOGS
Barney has brought up bile 3-4 times in his 15 months - luminous yellow frothy. I must admit because he was well in himself I didnt worry as it was one offs. He hasnt done so for at least 5 months now but Molly did about a month ago too at 9 months so I wonder if youngsters are prone to this sort of thing? She too was well in all other things.
Barney was sick at the vets the last time!! and she was not unduly worried and my god am I a panicker normally - as my vet will tell you :D
No expert so unless it happens again or the pup is unwell IN ANY OTHER WAY I wouldnt worry too much.
Of course if there are any symptoms dont take any notice of me please and see the vet :)

DOGS....they often do this if there is no or little food in their stomach . My breed is one that is very prone to gastric tortion & therefore has to have small meals little & often. You may find the problem will reduce if you start doing this.....especially as she is a large breed.

Mine do this when they are pregnant - at about 3 weeks after mating for two or three days they bring up a little frothy yellow bile - could she be pregnant?

My dogs do this on and off too ... it seems to be *natural* and they never come to any harm from it. Just keep and eye on them :-)

Westie lover.
No she is not pregnant, :) She is back to herself today, chasing Zeus (My male sibe) And chewing the fence (Little sod). She is off her food a bit but that is due to my other half keep feeding her chews etc etc she is holding out for nice things at the moment so she will not eat, but I have to be stricy and I am not going to give into those sultry puupy looks, she will soon start eating her food by tea time. :D
Sam
I am taking your advice and feeding her little but often as it may be a bit more easier on her tummy :)

Heidi,
Could be too many chews, one of mine couldn't have too many,

Callum suffers a lot with this and to stop it, i started giving him actimel and it has done the trick, no more bringing up bile, he used to do it a least three times a week, i give him the actimel once to twice a week.
