Hi there.
I am contemplating breeding samoyds, sometime next year, but wish to reseach the breed thoroughly but don't quite know where to start looking for breeders, or what the starting prices are for a breeding bitch or starting prices for stud fees.
I am a Novice breeder, who has the literature & knows what to expect/do, but not the practical experience. How can I start?

Why do you want to breed Samoyeds??

A lot of work goes into producing sound healthy Samoyed pups (or any breed) that adhere to the Breed Standard.
No reputable breeder would sell you a bitch for breeding or supply you with a stud dog if you are novice with little or no experience of the breed.

Most breeders place endorsements on the registration of their pups to protect against just this.
The name of the breed is Samoyed not Samoyd. Your book must have a misprint.

Hi guest,
I take it from your post, that you dont already own a Samoyed! If taht is so, then my advice to you, would be to own and show the breed for a good few years first, before you contemplate breeding.
Before i get shot down in flames, i dont show, breed, and i dont even own a pedigree, though i might at sometime in the future be interested in doing all three.
What is your dog experience? There is far more to breeding than just putting dog to bitch, and selling the resulting puppys, your aim should be (IMHO) to get your pups to be as close to your interpretation of the breed standard as you can. You therefore need to understand, and develop your interpretation of the breed standard first. So, go to some shows, own a Sam, meet Sams, and Sammy people, talk to breeders and owners etc.
Do lots of research into the breed, even before you research actual breeding. What are Samoyeds bred for, originally, where are they from, what are their breed traits etc.

Good luck, i hope that you either take ten years to do this, or dont do it at all!
