Poor old Min my 13yr old last night started to act very strangly. She had been fine for the first hour we had been home, the usual Bear full of energy and life as normal.
She looked although she was a bit stiff on her right front leg at first and we thought she may well have over done it on the walk we had gone on Sunday. She had done lots of swimming. She would not settle and was panting heavily and getting up and down like a yoyo. She then started to hold her paw up and couldn't put it onthe floor. We got her lying down and had a very good look to see if we could see anything using a torch but we couldn't see anything. I gave her a small dose of calpol as you could see she was in real pain. We settled her down for the night. This morning she is in as just as much pain and so Mike my husband is taking her to the vets this morning.

I am really concerned as she was fine one minute and then all of a sudden she was in so much pain. Oh well we will see what happens when Mike takes her to the vets.

Good luck at the vet, Lucy. :)
There's quite a few possibilities with what's going on with her, it's probably best to not try to guess.
I hope she'll be fine :)

Thanks Toodles.

I have just phoned Mike and he has an appointment at 2.30pm.

She is really looking sorry for herself he has said. I do hate it when they are in pain and you feel so helpless. :(

I am gob smacked. Mike is back and he has said she has got eczema between her toes. He has given her some medrone tablets. (anybody had these before ?)

I am so surprised as we couldn't see anything, she has never suffered before and the with the obvious pain she is in.

I will keep an eye out over the next couple of days to see if she improves, not really convinced though.

Hello,

Sorry to hear the chocolate girl is under the weather. I can believe eczema Rex had it however he never lifted his paw up but used to try and lick it all the time. Monty's paws are very sore at the moment because of the rain I thought however it may be something from maybe the field with the cows in at the moment, which I had a very close encounter with last weekend!!! C U soon

Love to Mousse and Min

Hi Suzanne

Min is so much better ! Mike has been at home for most of the week and he said that the limp and the "I am feeling sorry for myself" look was 10 times worse as soon as she say me coming in the door ! She laid with me on the sofa all evening on Wednesday holding her paw up at me just so that I could see it just in case !!

I wonder whether it could be something in the cow field?

Are you about tonight? Haven't seen you for a while !

Glad heat the chocolate girl's improving, she's obviously enjoying the extra attention.

Yes we are. St.John's been in Amsterdam all week and I have to pick him up from Aylesbury this evening, so should be home for 7:00pm ish. I think St.John was going to give Mike a call to arrange. Hope to cu later.

Apparently we are coming round for a curry once we have dropped Flo off at the school disco !

Mike knew we were talking on here as St John told him ! Can't do anything without been found out !!

See you later !
