Anyone on fb please look at the above link. For those who havnt heard the above so called rescue was raided last month by the police and mamy dogs were found dead .20 plus rescued in awful condition needing treatment and 140 missing . There is more information in the papers. Please read incase anyone has seen one of the missing dogs .nationwide. all they want to know is where these dogs are and that they are well. Dog lost and Essex police are dealing .
The owner and his cronies and currently on remand awaiting trial in April 26 for animal cruelty and fraud.
Also there is petition to be signed asking that rescues must be registered and checked. Not as badly as this but it happens too often

I can see how rescues get out of hand quickly, all rescues are overwhelmed, and they're usually ran by dog lovers who can't say no. I don't know anything about this particular one, but they seem to have had a lot of dogs that you shouldn't really rehome, that look like they could fall under the XL ban. I can imagine they were flooded with desperate people wanting rid of their dogs and then it all just became too much. I'm not excusing any of it at all, but I do understand how it could happen.

I help out with another rescue and as well as the kennels overflowing the person who runs it often has 12 - 20 dogs in cages in their house, and still desperate pleas come in, dogs going to be PTS if they can't take them. If the owner were to be ill for a week or so it could all get out of hand very quickly.

Personally I think there are worse things than death, if a dog is likely to be waiting years, or possibly never rehomed then it should be put to sleep.

These dogs were taken into rescue not just for rehoming but for rehabilitation and behaviour work or anything he could think of. It wasn't just that they died it was the way they died. neglect , starvation etc. These dogs weren't put to sleep and currently no one knows if there are more bodies to be found

The owners were promised the world but were then often ghosted and heard nothing. He was taking every breed of dog imaginable , big and small.  Then they vanished . Some have been rehomed but in poor condition with stories about why they are in poor condition that arnt true.
Stories that have been proven incorrect.

He was taking money from people then nothing. Strangely few appear to be banned breeds.  There are pictures on fb of their true stories and its pitiful. Dog Lost have been amazing in putting things together but still many have no ending

I do believe rescues should be closely monitored. I know sometimes it starts with someone who cant say no and it grows until they cant manage. ,This was very different

I don't think this one was started with good intentions. He was charging about £400 to take a dog plus happily took the food , donations etc .ones able to be sold were sold on for more money . those unable to be sold it didn't end well for .
apparently neighbours had been complaining about the set up for 2 years. filthy kennels and dead dogs smell which is what they kept complaining about, the horrendous smell

You are right weimed. Its horrendous just hope they find the missing dogs.  Hopefully alive and well or at worst if they are dead at least owners will have closure as painful as that will be . Some were very young puppies too .

its terrible.  some of the dogs were very rehomable cute puppies or popular breeds so hopefully most are in new homes. I know not all made it to homes as small dogs were among the dead.

others however were large dogs with bite history, reactive aggression etc and I do wish owners would PTS at home dogs like this.  there needs to be more education that it is not the worst thing to pts . this man fed on the desperation of people who wanted a second chance for dogs that had gone very wrong and those poor dogs suffered terrible deaths,

Even in a nice animal rescue who are kind to the dogs what is the point of keeping in kennels unrehomeable dogs for life? its no life for any dog.

Definitely weimed pts can be a better option than what some suffer with .Hard to do but practical.
From last looking about 120 are still missing hopefully homed .numbers do change day by day. Some bodies are still being found and it appears that there is another person and area of the country involved too. Difficult to work out wood from the trees on that one as the police are still working on the case
I personally know of one of the large breeds that is now in a lovely home
He wasn't healthy when first adopted but now is . New owner now
Has  the proper  back story.not as waa told  Not the easiest of dogs and certainly not a breed for me
They are  working with a behaviourist and  slowly improving . Suppose this is one reason I follow this so closely. The owner is currently on remand as bail was refused
