My dog constantly licks her paws and bottom. The vet said its OK to give piriton. We had a storm last night and she went into overdrive. I have changed her food to grain free and cut out chicken as she was getting yeasty ears which have cleared up. She has ivdd so not allowed to jump on and off beds or furniture so inevitably neither of us got much sleep. Does anyone have the same problem and how do you calm them down

That sounds like a pain response.  Pain and noise sensitivity go hand in hand so if she's got IVDD and she got much worse during a storm, I'd review her pain management program.

I agree, licking is often a sign of pain so worth getting checked out.

Can she sleep in a crate or pen?

Hello

This could be down to an allergy. We find that raw feeding is very good for this, venison, duck, pheasant anything game. Try to cut out all grain fed animals like cows, sheep and chickens etc.

To keep her feet clean and keep away any possible infection try Leucillin, spray on effected area and dab dry. You can get this off Amazon or from pets at home.

Keeps us all update

Thank you
Camilla
