I just want to check - it is safe to give an XL Drontal Tasty Bone to a dog around 25kg?

Usually I get the regular Drontal (not the XL) and I give 2.5 tablets, as it's one tablet per 10kg.

Then I realised it would work out cheaper if I used the XL, as the dosage sheet says to give 1 tablet to dogs 17.5kg-35kg. But this is one tablet per 35kg, so I'm basically giving a 25kg dog the same dose I'd give a 35kg dog.... ?!?!

Can someone just confirm for me that the Drontal XL Tasty Bone wormers are okay to give to dogs under 35kg?? (It says to give half to dogs up to 17.5kg, and mine are all over that amount - so can't halve it.)

I can tell you that one of mine once opened mail from hyperdrug and ate 6 x the wormer tablets (cestem the cheap drontal) he would normally have, he also ate a pack of zylkene. I phoned the vets in a panic and the vet said he might have an upset tummy but with all that zylkene on board he wouldn't care   He didn't even have an upset tummy and he's still fit and well years later, so I think yours will be fine

Talking of cheap wormers, I managed to get another years supply of milbemax from the NL, no prescription required at less than £2 a tab   They no longer deliver to the UK but I just got them delivered to a dutch friend who posted them on.

Okay, I'm going to go with the XL tablet. It seems that it covers 18-35kg. Mine are about 25kg-27kg.
