my sister had a poorly cat,the vet gave him steroids(he d got diarrhoea, lethargy, maybe other symptoms ive forgotten)the diarhoea started to clear up,and he looked a bit brighter then back to square one,so she was going to take him back to the vet, before she could, she read posts from people saying their cats had been poorly-with similar symptoms-while being fed on felix.so she took her cat off felix and gave him cooked chicken and raided supermarket shelves for something not felix-sheba, i think.hes got better every day and hes fighting fit now.
I realise this could be totally a coincidence-just wondered if anyone else had heard anything?thanks!

Felix is a really poor quality food -the original has just 4 % meat and for an obligate carnivore that can certainly cause problems. (I don't like feeding less than 50 % meat, ideally much higher.) The "As good as it looks" range appears to have 14 %. I.e. I would not feed Felix as it's not worth the cost. Sheba is definitely better as far as the common lower quality cat foods go, higher meat content (although most appears to be meat derivatives) and better tolerated. So it could be a bad batch or just a case of no longer tolerating the food. I wouldn't switch back!

Agree goldmali . We are using bozita from zooplus having one cat who was thought to have ibd. All cured now he is on bozita . We only use Wet food as well . Infact zooplus is well worth looking at as they do a few better ones and u can see what ingredients are in each and how much
Loads of reasons why we use only wet but one being both cats were sick when they had some dry to eat .that stopped once we went over entirely to wet
One cat we sadly lost recently was raw fed but thats often hard work uses they are very young when it's started and u do need to research first there are differences to raw feeding dogs
If u do stick with supermarket foods make sure its a complete food and nit just a complimentary as some are .it's not always clear
thanks chris no,shes just "finding her feet" at the mo,she wont keep him on just chicken.thanks for the link!x
thankyou goldmali,i will pass on all the info to my sister-my cat seems to have put himself on a raw food diet-i have tried every possible food and he leaves everything-wont eat cooked chicken, fish, any type of dry or wet food,so hes eating chicken and liver mince or plain chicken mince.hes 12 now!xx

My cat had Felix once or twice maybe and she didn't feel well after. There are much better food options for the cats.
thankyou-could you give me a few ideas please?xx
My cat likes Blink.
He likes everything to be honest and i feed him Felix with no ill effects.
He also has Raw food intended for the dogs, especially minced whole rabbit.
I get Thrive from the supermarket and tins of sardines for humans.
My daughter has a pack of Devon Rex and buys frozen stuff called I think katkin a fresh steamed food. Her cats really like it including the geriatric one. My cat was not keen at all however.
Thanks very much!my sisters cat has been fine ever since but im considering trying to upgrade my cats food,if he ll co operate that is! xx

We use bozita from zooplus for my daughters cats
Everything else disagreed with them .
thankyou chris-not heard of that one!xxx

Cats don't need grain anyway as they are obligate carnivores so really it answer its own question
