hi im at my wits end and have basically given up and dont know what to try next! in the last month ive bathed my 3 dogs, treated them with advantage spot on and treated the whole house with staykill.no reduction in scratching and nibbling after a week-i saw one flea on one dog,had several hop on and off me,also several bites-i ve also flea combed the dogs ,caught nothing.i sprayed the house another twice then finally bathed them again and put spot on(effipro this time).the dogs are still scratching.the one i saw the flea on also had some flea dirt at the base of her back.the only improvement is ive  not been bitten myself again. theyre all casting-does that make them itch? ive never had this problem before, its like nothing is working!.i really dont want to use more chemicals!help?thanks!

Capstar tablet to kill all adult fleas and then Program tablet monthly for at least 4 months.

It takes months sometimes to get rid of them, new ones are hatching all the time.
Years ago when I had an outbreak I called rentokil and they said no matter what they do it will be ongoing for a while. Hoovering daily, flea bomb weekly, I sprayed the carpets daily as well with indorex. Advantage didn't work on the dogs so tried  Nexgard, not the spectra one. That worked on the dogs and helped break the cycle. I also in the mix washed my carpets too, all bedding was coil washed weekly too. My vehicle was also done weekly. Hoovering and constant spraying and flea bombs worked in the end. I now out of the fact I do not want this to happen again always just before winter hits spray through my whole house with the spray.
I don't have cats but they were brought in from a sofa I purchased 2nd hand. Was soo soo angry

A Capstar tablet will kill any fleas that are actually on the dogs, for 24 hours. In the meantime keep hoovering everywhere that the dogs go, every day, all round the skirting boards etc, and boil-wash all their bedding and any throws that they lie on.

The household spray you use needs to be one with Insect Growth regulator, that breaks the life cycle, stopping the fleas hatching.

The one I always used was Acclaim. There are others.

oh thanks i probably bought the wrong one-i usually get indorex and sometimes spraying the house is all thats needed, this time i bought staykill thinking it might be better as it cost a bit more.but ive not been finding advantage working that well lately, either.x

Indorex is very good and what I use. I've tried acclaim but didn't find it as strong for the feckers
