Hi I’ve been asked to deliver a puppy to a port for a buyer coming from Jersey. I don’t mind doing it because it’s best for the puppy I think for me to take it to the port with its mum but how do I charge? Any advice grateful received

Are you the breeder of the pup or pet transport?
Hi I’m the breeder. Very happy to transport him to keep him relaxed just not something I’ve needed to do before. Thanks

I assume they will be meeting you0, then simply work out your fuel cost to port and back.

I wouldn't even charge fuel costs, I'd just be happy to help and to meet the new owners.
Thanks I would too but it’s a 10 hour round trip!

If you didn't go to meet them then they would have to come to you so either way they would have to pay for fuel and I imagine that pet courier would cost a lot more than just mileage.

We contributed to the cost of bringing Frankie over from E.Anglia to a meet-up in Tewkesbury. We weren't asked, but felt it only fair.
As somebody living in the Channel Islands and it was me having one of your pups, I would be more than happy to pay your full travel costs. The extra cost is just part of getting the right pup.
You should charge fuel costs. I had a breeder bring a pup from Norwich down to Southampton (driving) and the breeder charged a flat fee of £100 for anyone wanting their pup delivered. I think she did a few pups on the same trip, so probably got £300 for it.
