Hi

I had assumed that my miniature poodle of 3 and a half months was home and (literally)  dry when it came to house training but suddenly we have started over the last couple of days to have had a few puddles and bit of poo indoors - it is as if he has gone backwards.  I am going to have to start house training all over again.  In other ways he is super smart, sit, down stay,  come etc etc.  Any ideas why this should have happened anyone?  Many thanks for your help....

Weather ? We have had some bad thunderstorms and heavy rain .
He is still very young and I think some going backwards isn't unusual

Regressions like this are totally normal.  Just up the garden breaks again and you'll be back on track in no time.

Have you just been leaving the door open for him? I know some who do this when they get pups in the summer and all seems well until they start closing the door when the weather turns and they find out the pup hasn't learnt to hold it and let them know it needs the loo, so they have to start again.

Has it been raining where you are? My boy hates the rain and doesn't even like walking in set floor outside, incase it will melt his paws, so when it's wet out there as a pup he would be like "nope I'll just go in the kitchen ok?"

Yes it has been raining here quite a lot recently which does probably account for a bit of regression!!  I am now regularly putting him outside for "bathroom breaks" and so far so good!
