PLEASE can anybody help me. I've just had lamminate flooring put down in my living room. It looks lovely but I spend all my time putting the rugs tidy!! The dog walks in and the rug is in a heap in the corner of the room. How can I stop it slidding!! I have tried the proper stuff that goes under the rug to prevent sliding, it is useless. I am getting close to the point of nailing the rug to the floor!!!!
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS A SOLUTION.

Hiya -if you go to B&Q they sell stuff to go under the rug -it comes in a roll and its white and feels tacky to the touch ,sorry I can't remember what it's called but it's in the rug dept ,it's about £5 a roll and we used 2 rolls under our rug on top of laminate and it doesn't budge an inch
( with 12mth Dobe charging up and down -worth every penny ) :D

Hi
This is the very stuff I have tried. With 6 Newfies, one of them 14 weeks old, it was useless.
How would velcro work? Would I have to stick it to the floor? As for stuff sold in carpet shops, when I ask about it they look at me stupid, and say they have never heard of anything like it!!!!! and belive me I have tried every carpet shop in my area [south west wales].
I am going to buy blue tac tomorrow and give that a go.
Thanks to all for your suggestions

.........or try Velcro, or you can buy special tape from carpet suppliers for this very purpose.

You can buy vet bed with rubber on the back at shows for a reasonable price, i bought three bits at discover dogs this weekend for £15 each and they are huge if i had known how big they were i would only have got two, i bought them for the same reason as you, my cocker likes to go surfing on the original vet bed across the floor, but now she cant im such a spoil sport, hope this helps Diane.

Velcro may leave marks on your flooring when it's time to change it. I used it on my rugs on hard wood flooring. When I pulled the velcro off, if left a mark everywhere I put it. Plus a sticky feel that just wouldn't come off. My suggestion would be to purchase rugs with the rubber backing. They won't move on your flooring. :-) Shirl

Thanks for the suggestion, but it is to late, the rugs have been bought, and have no rubber back. I am trying blue tac - so far so good .
