I have a question. On the IKC form for registration of an affix, it says:
"8. A word when registered can be used as either a Prefix or an Affix, but applicants should note that the use of a word as a Prefix is to be preferred, as this ensures that all dogs registered in the owner's name will then be grouped together in The Kennel Club records."
Here:
https://www.ikc.ie/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Kennel-Club-Application-Form-May-18-Web.pdf How do you use the word as a prefix if you didn't breed the dog?? Say a dog was named by their breeder "Smithson Logic Chops" - where Smithson is the breeder's kennel name/affix. So the new puppy owner, if they do what the IKC recommends there, would put their own kennel name BEFORE that?? So it would be "Greenhills Smithson Logic Chops"? (Where Greenhills is the new puppy owner's kennel name?) Am I understanding this right??
I vaguely remember that the UK KC used to allow kennel names at the start of names as well, but then changed that. Is IKC just continuing with how things were?
