Hi,
I have a KC registered Labrador boy who has all clear genetic tests and good hip scores so we decided to stud him once with a family friend as we’d like a puppy. We mated them three times, 2 days apart. They tied all three times but when they separated (after about 15-25 minutes each time) the bitch let out a big splash every time. I’m obviously inexperienced so I wanted to know is this normal? What is it? And will it effect the likelihood of her getting pregnant?
Thanks for any help!
You didn't mention BVA eye tests there, which it's important are current (within the last year) and also elbow scoring. And of course the same tests for the bitch too...
Of course there is a lot of seminal fluid being pumped into the bitch during the tie, which is going to come out when the tie releases.
My dog was BVA eye tested 4 months ago (within the 12 month period before mating) and he was elbow scored when he was hip scored! The bitch has also had all the same tests and they came back clear and the hip/elbow scores were good. We’re mainly breeding as we both want a pup and they both have lovely temperaments (my boy has had training as an assistance dog) and my friend wants a litter before she has her bitch spayed. I don’t plan to mate my boy again but I was just wondering what the fluid was and wether it’ll affect our chances as I couldn’t find anything outside.
Okay - I worry a lot about my boy! I just wanted to know it was normal as it was a lot of clear liquid and I couldn’t find anything online.

Lets put it this way, it is no different to the potential for the 'wet patch' with human bedroom activity

Very delicately put Brainless!
And that which no one wants to lie on!
