Hi there we have recently had a litter from our  girl and she is raw fed the pups are 4 weeks in 2 days and we have started them lapping on goats milk and planning on moving them to minced chicken or beef in a few days! But tonight lady regurgitated her meat for the pups and the puppy’s was all over it licking and sucking on the meat I’m not worried about that i was just wondering if anyone else raw fed and there bitch done this as I read a blog a while back about wild dogs regurgitating meat for there pups but never heard of a house pet doing this?? Thank you

Sounds normal to me, my friend, who breeds working GSDs, bitches frequently do this.

Great to hear others do this also must be a Raw diet thing maybe brings back their natural instincts

Yep pretty normal. I blend raw puppy food with goats milk and wean onto it at 3 weeks old but mum still regurgitates occasionally

It's nothing to do with raw diets, it's what bitches do for puppies. You should always feed the bitch away from the puppies and wait a while until her food has been digested (an hour) before letting them together again, or she will regurgitate for them. Not all bitches do this, but many do. And it has nothing to do with what they are fed.

Absolutely!   I had some who'd do this and they were not on a raw diet either.  You'll notice the puppies licking at mum's face and if she's only just been fed, this will stimulate her to regurgitate for her puppies.

Natural behaviours have nothing to do with raw diets.  Anymore than all.the old wives tales about feeding raw makes them aggressive ,don't let a dog taste blood and so on .
Dogs are just dogs and do what dogs do pets or otherwise
