Can someone please clear up an issue i have just now.I have found a wonderful breeder and have fallen on love with one of the pups( ive been searching a very long time). There seems to be a bit of confusion to the new rules since brexit..i think that pups now need to have rabies vaccination therefore cannot travel until 15 weeks but the breeder has found a courier willing to take the puppy to me but at 9 weeks. The breeder says they only need a rabies vaccination if going from uk to northern ireland and not the other way around..who is right? I really need to know soon before i miss out altogether but i dont want to reserve a puppy that i may not be able to get,any advice about this matter greatly appreciated. x

I honestly think you would be better off speaking to a Defra licensed pet transporter who is doing NI to U.K. runs, I think your breeder is right but it’s all very confusing at the moment unfortunately. I can recommend Daisybrook International Transport and am sure Mathew with be happy to give you some advice. Good luck.

Unfortunately at the moment, no one knows. Not even the government. Have a read of this: https://obedienceuk.news/wordpress/the-kc-welcomes-select-committee-inquiry-after-pet-travel-brexit-u-turn/?fbclid=IwAR2lTdFUgtk9rfYDP1EiodfGtXzCSjoc-XCtjQxC9w5ABSLw1zFES5uTO0k

I'm not so sure having been onto the DEFRA website (which is a minefield since the UK finally left the EU!!)

I found this -

"Pet travel documents

Your pet must have one of the following documents when entering or returning to GB:

an EU pet passport issued in the EU (or in GB if issued before 1 January 2021), or a pet passport from another Part 1 listed third country
the animal health certificate (AHC) issued in GB used to travel to the EU – which you can use to re-enter GB for up to 4 months after it was issued
a GB pet health certificate (for travel into GB only)

Your pet will not need this documentation if it’s entering GB from:

    NI
    the Channel Islands
    the Isle of Man "

I think you'd best contact DEFRA directly for the situation 'POST LEAVING THE EU'.
